Asthenia syndrome of superficies is caused by the conflict between the healthy energy and the pathogenic (disease causing) evils in those superficial regions when the protective energy is debilitated and the superficies are weakened. It is characterized by spontaneous perspiration, aversion to wind while sweating, and with a floating, slow and weak pulse.
