Arrival of qi |
Arrival of qi When physician inserts needle into the skin and manipulates, the individual may feel soreness, numbness, distension and heaviness around the acupoint. Meanwhile, the physician may experience tightness around the needle. TCM calls this needling sensation as "arrival of qi." This reaction is very important for successful acupuncture treatment, because if the needling sensation happens readily, the therapeutic effect will be better; if qi is difficult to be secured, the effect is not so good. |
