I have had two 45-minute acupuncture for female hair loss. Hair loss started about 12 years ago during radiation treatment for cervical cancer. Hair loss is more noticeable now. I am 49 years old. I also had an unsuccessful hysterectomy prior, thus radiation treatment, so I am surgically menopausal. However, I do not suffer from menopause. Will acupuncture help hair loss or regrowth? What herbal supplement should I take to complement acupuncture, if any.

In Chinese medicine theory, the functional state of kidney is manifest in hair, hair loss indicates that there is kidney deficiency. Acupuncture helps to stimulate blood and qi flowing to the head region and promote hair health.

Fleeceflower root is an important herb for hair problem, and a proprietary Chinese medicine known as ˇ§Seven Treasures Beauty Hair Pillˇ¨ has used it as the main ingredient.
