I was recently hospitalized for an inflammation on my right lower leg, initially diagnosed as cellulitis, but which actually turned out to be stasis dermatitis, resulting from deep venous insufficiency. Treatment here in the U.S. is compression stockings. I know that in Europe Horse Chestnut extract is used. Is there a TCM treatment which has been successful that you could recommend?

What was the surgeonˇ¦s advice about your problem? Normally, the skin problem can only be resolved when the blood flow in your lower legs are improved.

In order to promote wound healing, Chinese physicians will aim to remove blood stasis, and promote blood and qi activities, many herbs can be selected, for both internal and external use.

Soaking feet helps promote the circulation of the limbs. http://www.shen-nong.com/eng/treatment/footbaths.html
