Indications: For heat accumulated in the upper body especially irritated the stomach and heart that present with bad breath, gum swelling and receding, sore throat, mouth sores, sore and bloodshot eyes. It is also indicated for damp-heat accumulated in the spleen and stomach that present with yellowish complexion, slight puffiness, stuffy chest, breath shortness, bowel irregularity, burning sensation during urination and yellowish urine, or sometimes feverish sensation of the body. Some physicians also use the formula to relieve night sweats, stomachache, diabetic symptoms, headaches, nosebleeds and menstrual pain that are associated with yin deficiency. With appropriate modifications, modern TCM often uses the formula to treat stomatitis, canker sores, tonsillitis, jaundice, pharyngitis, periodontal disease, conjunctivitis and glossitis.

適應症：心胃之熱上衝，表現口氣，牙齦腫爛，咽喉腫痛，口舌生瘡，目赤腫痛。亦適宜脾胃受濕，表現身面皆黃，肢體微腫，胸悶氣短，大便不調，小便黃澀或時身熱。亦可解陰虛盜汗、胃脘疼痛、消渴、肝郁頭痛、鼻血、經痛等。現代多用於治療口腔炎、口腔潰瘍、扁桃腺炎、黃疸、咽喉炎、牙周病、眼結膜炎、舌炎等。
